Every time I go to Paris I find it hard to justify how these two worlds can exist right next to each other. The romantic tourist destination, and the thousands of refugees (including hundreds of kids) living on the street…all in the same city.
This week, the CEO of Gucci donated €100m, Louis Vuitton pledged €200m, L’Oreal donated €200m and oil giant Total pledged €100m, all to the city of Paris. But not to the people sleeping outside on the concrete…to the rebuilding of the Notre Dame.
This BAFFLES me.
How can we have our priorities so wrong?
A church catches fire in the same city that people are being left to die out in the cold. Both are tragic…but one far more so!
What do you think?
