Uganda is now the centre of the world’s fastest growing refugee crisis. Every day around 2,000 people cross Uganda’s borders fleeing famine, drought and violence in neighbouring countries. Most are from South Sudan
But do you want to know the most amazing thing…
Uganda has been leading the way in it’s welcoming, open approach to refugees…putting Europe and the world’s developed countries to shame.
“They offer them land, they offer them services, they offer them rights.” Said a representative from UNICEF.
“I think amid all these challenges and all the horrors people are enduring, the approach of the Ugandan Government really offers better prospects to refugee kids, and is a really good lesson to other countries globally who are dealing with their own refugee crises.”
