Charlie has been volunteering in the Calais and Dunkirk area for years now. After gaining lots of valuable experience working with other organisations on the ground, he set up his own organisation, Mobile Refugee Support (MRS).
He now runs a small team of up to 10 volunteers plus Fowsy the dog, operating out of two Landrovers.
They focus on the Dunkirk area, where the majority of refugee women and children in the area live, and provide phone charging, distribution of tents and sleeping bags, and now…since partnering with us at Jāṅgala, Wi-Fi.
Walking through the camp with Charlie is amazing.
Everyone knows his name…and he knows everyone’s in return. The kids jump all over him, the mothers invite him into their tents for food and the fathers shake his hand with the utmost respect.
