When talking through his decision this morning, he explained to me that Leeds was the first place he landed in the UK. The first and only city he has really got to know, and yes, he has made the best of things there, but how can he ever know what works for him, what suits him, or what doors could open, if he stays still and gets comfortable?
He is moving tomorrow, and speaking to him inspired me so much to think about change, and how change is growth.
I just moved house myself yesterday and have felt too like I have been in a time of transition. Chatting to Awad made me see this shift as a beautiful and exciting. He reminded me that new opportunities and challenges are exactly what we need to learn and to flourish. Him taking the bull by the horns, packing his bags and leaving everything he has been working so hard to build behind, reminded me that nothing is permanent and that’s OK.
Actually not just OK…that’s life. That’s the journey.
Awad…good luck tomorrow in this new chapter. You are my inspiration always. If anyone lives in Edinburgh and wants to reach out to him…he is truly one of the most incredible people I have ever met, so trust me…he is a pleasure to introduce into your city and your life!
