Unaccompanied Child Refugees

B R E A K I N G N E W S

I’m devastated to report that today our Government quietly backtracked on David Cameron’s promise to take 3,000 unaccompanied child refugees to the safety of the UK.

The Government will now offer only 350 places, 200 of which have been deducted as they have already been taken by the unaccompanied children who came from Calais.

This means only 150 places are left for the thousands of unaccompanied refugee kids in the rest of Europe. This includes freezing cold Greece, where three people lost their lives in one week last month, due to the conditions in the camps.

Can we just think about this for a second.

UNACCOMPANIED.

CHILD.

REFUGEES.

That means kids, who are fleeing death, and they are alone, without parents, and they are facing death again, and we won’t take them.

HOW IS THIS HAPPENING, IN EUROPE, IN 2017!?

Remember back in World War Two when we brought the children to safety then? We look back on that proudly, as a time when we welcomed those most in need.

So how will we look back on this time?

This is history in the making and we have a responsibility to DO SOMETHING:
