This is little Fadi with a member of the amazing team in Turkey, who he calls ‘Auntie.’

This was taken in a rare moment of beautiful afternoon sun…but the reality is that it’s still freezing cold in the camps in Izmir and Fadi only has this thin mattress to separate him from the ground at night.

Lots of Syrian men, women and children don’t even have that. There are still many new people arriving from Syria every day with nothing.

These mattresses cost £5 and are a game-changer for those who are struggling to sleep not just because of the cold, the rain, the rats and the conditions…but because of the trauma, pain and grief they carry.
