“I met Jaz in the Jungle one year ago. We made friends and talked a lot. When I arrived in the UK, she was the first person I called. I didn’t have money, I didn’t have clothes. Only the ones I was wearing, and they were wet, because I hid in some water to get past the police in France. She sent me a package and I was very happy. She is like my sister.

It was hard for me to get used to the English ways. People in the street didn’t talk to me. In Eritrea, everyone you pass says hello…even if you have never seen them before.

I wanted to make friends in my new home, so I joined a running club. I love to run, and ever since I was a boy, I have been very fast.

I miss my home country, I miss my family. I wish I could be with them. I feel alone here, but I forget everything when I run.

I told Jaz about my running. I told her my friends in my running club, they all had a special watch that showed them their heart rate, and how far they were running. I told her my dream about having a special watch like this.

Then one day I had another package…inside was a watch. I couldn’t believe it.

Thank you to God, thank you to Jaz and thank you to The Worldwide Tribe.
