JOINT STATEMENT FROM GROUPS AND ORGANISATIONS WORKING IN CALAIS:
In light of recent events in Calais and the very uncertain future of the Jungle camp, as well as the situation on the Greek/Macedonian border, we would like to express the following message:
Until this point, there have been no satisfactory solutions offered to care for the thousands of vulnerable people in Calais and many other places across Europe.
Until a suitable situation is reached, we will continue to strive for one.
Whether this means providing shelter, warmth, food, clothing, education, relief and support to the people who need it, or raising awareness of this issue and encouraging every one of us to act with kindness and compassion, we will do everything we can to work together to create a positive change.
We will continue to be driven by love for our fellow human beings.
We stand in solidarity with our brothers and sisters in the Jungle camp, in Europe and around the world.
